VAN WERT, Ohio (WOWO): A fatal crash in Van Wert claimed the life of a Melrose, Ohio teen.  Just before 3:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, 17-year-old Robert Seffernick was traveling on SR 637 when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow, crossing the center line and hitting a vehicle driven by 64-year-old David Simko, of Toledo. Seffernick was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, Simko was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital and was last listed in serious condition. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
