Terre Haute Man Fatally Shot at Indianapolis Motel

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police say a Terre Haute man has died after a drug-related shooting at an Indianapolis west side motel.

Officer Christopher Wilburn said Sunday that 29-year-old Dustin Woods died after being shot in the head while confronting two men who robbed him at the Regal 8 Motel.

Wilburn says detectives believe Woods and suspects Eric Johnson and Alejandro Mauricio met Saturday to make a drug deal, but instead Woods and another person were robbed of drugs.

Wilburn says the 25-year-old Johnson was captured a short time after the shooting and the 24-year-old Mauricio was captured by the Indianapolis police SWAT team Saturday night after barricading himself inside a home. Both were lodged in the Marion County Jail Sunday on unspecified charges. It's not clear if they have attorneys.
