Video Shows Suspect Vehicle in Fatal Hit-Skip Crash

Police say a vehicle  resembling this one, was involved in a fatal hit and skip accident last month.


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police have released new details from a fatal hit and run collision last month on Fort Wayne's north side.

Early in the morning of Dec. 16, 42-year-old Rufus Overbay of Fort Wayne was struck near the intersection of East State and Crescent Avenue. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Authorities say the suspect was driving a Buick Regal with a model range of 1998 to 2004. Video from the scene shows what could be called a “cashmere metallic four-door sedan.” Investigators say the color scheme in the surveillance tape was only available on the 2004 model.

The suspect vehicle likely sustained damage to the front passenger headlight. If you have any information you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP.
