Woman charged with felonies after slashing boyfriend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A Fort Wayne Woman is now charged with five felonies after cutting her boyfriend.

40-year-old Connie Brantley is being charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and three counts of domestic battery according to the Journal Gazette.

Brantley explained to officers that she came home from work around 3 p.m. on Wednesday and found her boyfriend cheating with another woman in a vehicle.  She then argued with the man and tells officers he “swung at her and she then cut him with a knife.”

According to the injured man, Brantley came home and “began acting crazy” and then proceeded to cut him with a knife.  He also states he had previously given her the knife for protection.

Brantley has a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.  She has one other prior domestic battery conviction in Illinois.
