11-year-old in Central Indiana Dies

GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP):  Authorities in central Indiana are investigating the death of an 11-year-old boy.

Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says the child had Down syndrome and was found about 1 p.m. Saturday in his family home with his head between the slats of a crib. Investigators say the child functioned at the level of a 1- to 2-year-old.

The child was pronounced dead at Community Hospital South in Greenwood. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
