1,900 in Indiana remain without power

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP): About 1,900 businesses and homes in Indiana were still without power Friday evening after powerful storms that produced 11 tornadoes knocked down power lines early Tuesday.



Indiana Michigan Power Co. reported 1,000 of its customers in South Bend remained without power. It said it hopes to have power restored to all customers by 6 p.m. Saturday. It also had 3,800 customers in Benton Harbor, Michigan, still without power.



Northern Indiana Public Service Co. reports 917 of its customers were without power Friday evening. Michigan City had the most with 392, followed by LaPorte with 227 and Goshen with 85.
