MARION, IND. (WOWO) A 20-year-old man was found shot to death inside an SUV in Marion after an early-morning report of gunfire behind a local business, according to police.
Shooting reported behind business
According to the Marion Police Department, Grant County dispatchers received a 911 call at 2:24 a.m. Monday reporting a shooting behind a business located at 904 S. Western Ave.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man inside an SUV who had been shot. Personnel from the Marion Police Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Fire Department, and Marion Health attempted life-saving measures before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
The man was later pronounced dead according to CBS-4.
Victim identified by investigators
Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Cristobal Lester.
Investigators said preliminary findings indicate he suffered a single gunshot wound to the right side of his head. Authorities have not released additional details regarding possible suspects or a motive.
