38th Annual Wild Zoo Halloween starts Friday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The annual Wild Zoo Halloween opens this week with a different theme every day.

The 38th Annual Wild Zoo Halloween opens at noon on Friday, Oct. 14. On Friday, the theme is “PLUMPkin” Day. A super-sized pumpkin will be on display. The guest who guesses the pumpkin’s weight will win a prize, according to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.

Some of the other themes include princess, mascot and Star Wars. On Oct. 22, it will be Local Hero Day. Children will be able to meet local fire fighters, police officers and people in the military from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. that day.

During the event, guests can trick-or-treat for candy, meet a friendly witch, pick a pumpkin from a patch and take train rides.

The Central Zoo and the Australian Adventure will be open during Wild Zoo Halloween.

Kids are encouraged to wear costumes because the zoo will be decorated for Halloween. There will be several photo spots where guests can take their own photos.

Admission is $5 for all ages. It is $9 for admission with treats. Zoo members receive $2 off admissions.

You can learn more about the event and learn about the themes at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s website.
