More GE Campus public hearings planned

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Your input is needed on the future use of the GE campus.

The General Electric Campus Coalition will host three public meetings asking for input from residents on what should happen next to the building and surrounding area. The 32 acre campus consists of a dozen buildings totaling two million square feet.

It’s location on Broadway just beyond downtown Fort Wayne was known for the iconic electric sign.

The coalition was initiated by Fifth District Councilman Geoff Paddock. The purpose was to begin discussions with citizens and former GE employees about possible future uses of the now vacant factory. So far a total of 20 meetings have been held since May of 2015.

The three upcoming sessions are:

  • Thursday, February 11, 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Citizens Square , Omni Room, 200 East Berry Street
  • Saturday, February 13, 10 AM to Noon, The Summit , Dining Hall (Door H) 1025 West Rudisill Boulevard
  • Thursday, February 18, 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Citizens Square , Omni Room, 200 East Berry Street .
