7-year-old Injured in ATV Accident in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A 7-year-old girl was injured after an ATV incident Sunday evening. Indiana Conservation Officers were called around 7:00 P.M. to Franklin, Indiana where reports stated that a 7-year-old girl had hit a utility pole and suffered unknown injuries.

When officers got to the scene, they found the child was operating an ATV on the road and became distracted, causing her to veer off and hit the pole.

The girl suffered a facial cut and was checked out on the scene by EMS and released. She was later taken to a hospital by family for precautionary reasons.

The child was not wearing a helmet or protective gear at the time of the incident. She was being supervised by adults.
