FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The terminal at Fort Wayne International Airport was closed and evacuated just after 3-PM Friday after a threat situation escalated.

The incident began when the Transportation Safety Administration intercepted and flagged a Tweet making a threat which was considered by officials as low level.

Things escalated after a suitcase which set to be loaded on a flight had what was described as a suspicious sound coming from it. Shortly after that, a passenger on that flight made a request of ramp agents to take a later flight.

Officials made the decision to evacuate and lock down the terminal. Police eliminated the suitcase as a threat. Flights continued to land at Fort Wayne International during the incicent but were held. The airport resumed normal operations at about 4:30.
