MASON COUNTY, MI (WOWO) – A woman and man from Angola are killed in a Sunday morning plane crash in Michigan.

According to Michigan State Police, the call came in around 10 a.m. that a plane had crashed.

Our partners in news at 21Alive say that a fixed-wing, single-engine plane crashed after takeoff from the Mason County Airport. A 43-year-old woman and 60-year-old man and two dogs were killed.

Authorities say the couple was visiting family in the Ludington area.

FAA records indicate the plane is registered to BDG LLC, which is registered as a construction company called Strebig Construction in Allen County.

At this time, police are not sure what caused the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
