FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department is mourning the death of Captain Andrea Burton.

Burton died Sunday, according to Fort Wayne Metro Firefighters 124.

She was remembered as a true friend whose positive energy was contagious and whose service made an impact on the department and community.

Her death comes on the same day Captain Eric Balliet died in the line of duty in 2017.

Funeral details are pending and will be released as soon as they are available.
