Woman dead after car rams into Dupont Kroger

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A woman is dead after a car crashed into an area Kroger on Wednesday afternoon.

Fort Wayne police say the accident happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the Kroger on Dupont Road.

Our partners in news at 21Alive report an elderly man accelerated rapidly from the pharmacy drive-thru, bumped another vehicle, hit a curb, and drove onto the sidewalk before crashing into the building.

The car’s passenger, an elderly woman, was taken to an area hospital in life-threatening condition where she later died.

Police say the driver was unconscious when they arrived is in stable condition.
