Prosecutors have charged a Fort Wayne man with felony battery in connection with the beating of his 7-year-old stepson.  The Journal Gazette says Winston Pearson Jr. is accused of hitting the boy with an extension cord back in late March after the boy got in trouble at school and a note was sent home.  The beating reportedly left numerous welts on the boy’s body.
