Shine Retains Seat as Allen County GOP Chairman

Steve Shine will stay on as Allen County’s Republican Party Chairman, a position he has held for two decades.

Shine defeated challenger Jason Arp in a secret ballot election that was held Saturday at South Side High School in Fort Wayne.

Shine told the Journal Gazette that of the 227 eligible voters, 169 turned out, making voter turnout 74 percent, a high number for any election.  In that same report, Shine was quoted as having thanked his opponent in his acceptance speech, saying “Thank you, sir, because you helped focus the spotlight on the great Republican party,” he said. “Was I irritated? Yes. Was it good for the party? Yes.”

In addition to his position with the Republican party and his law practice, Steve Shine is also an occasional program host and contributor to WOWO.
