Woman Pleads Guilty in Waterloo Deputy Shooting

34-year-old Julie King, the woman charged with felony murder for the death of one man in a case where a police officer was shot, has pleaded guilty to aiding in attempted murder.


According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, the plea agreement calls for up to 38 years behind bars, in exchange for the plea deal, the felony murder charge against her was dropped.


King was with her boyfriend, Ralph Hardiek when Hardiek shot Waterloo Deputy Steve Brady in the face.


The two then took off and hid under a nearby porch. When police found them, shots were exchanged, with police killing Hardiek.


King was charged with felony murder in connection with Hardiek’s death. She will receive her sentence on May 6th.
