Sheriff’s Department News Release:  

On 03/31/2013 at approximately 3:45 PM the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on Tonkel Road just South of Schlatter Road.  A tan Impala was traveling North bound on Tonkel Road.  A silver Cadillac was behind the Impala also traveling North.  The silver Cadillac rear-ended the Impala at a high rate of speed causing the Impala to flip and roll several times before coming to rest in a field on the North side of Tonkel Road.  The male driver of the Impala was transported in serious condition while his female passenger was transported in critical condition.  The male driver,  lone occupant of the Cadillac, was transported to a local hospital in good condition.  All occupants of both vehicles were wearing safety belts.  Speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.  This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
