Shooting on Oxford Street Leaves One Man in Critical Condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A shooting Sunday afternoon leaves one man in critical condition.

Police got the call to Oxford Street around 3:17 p.m. Once officers arrived they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, where doctors then downgraded his condition to critical.  

A witness saw the victim standing in the street, talking with a person inside a SUV. The witness said a gunshot was heard and then the victim fell to the ground, as the SUV sped away. The witness ran over to the man and then called 911.

So far, no motives have been established and detectives are hoping to speak with the victim at the earliest opportunity.
