ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – Kate’s Kart is inviting the community to the final day of its 18th annual Ice Cream Social.

The Social started yesterday and will continue through this evening at 36 participating ice cream shops across northeast Indiana.

The fundraiser supports the nonprofit’s mission of providing books to children in hospitals.

Volunteers will be on hand with free books, raffle prizes and family activities, with some locations featuring special treats and entertainment.

Organizers say they hope to raise more than $150,000, with $120,000 already secured through event sponsors.
