Traffic Stop Leads to Police Chase and Meth Bust in Warsaw

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Throwing drugs out of a car window didn’t get a man off the hook after a police chase in Warsaw. It started when Warsaw Police tried to pull a vehicle over Wednesday afternoon near the city’s downtown. The three passengers ran from the vehicle but were taken into custody by undercover officers. The driver, 33-year-old Randy Woods, of Silver Lake, led police on a short chase during which he threw several meth-related items out of the vehicle. After the chase, he was taken into custody. Officers found more meth-related items in the vehicle. The investigation led to an apartment where officers found additional meth-making precursors, as well as finished meth. One of the passengers, 49-year-old Michael Harris, of Warsaw, had an active warrant out of Kosciusko County for Forgery. He was booked on the warrant and faces other charges. Another passenger, 32-year-old Donald Tooley, of Fort Wayne, was booked for Visiting a Common Nuisance. The third passenger, 25-year-old Justin Smith, of Warsaw, took un-prescribed narcotics and was taken to a local hospital after going into respiratory distress. A warrant will be sought Smith for Visiting a Common Nuisance, and Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
