Huntington Teacher, Coach Could See Jail Time

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): A former Huntington County teacher and coach faces more legal trouble.

Earlier this month, Don Cotton was sentenced to 3 and 1/2 years probation after pleading guilty to sexual battery and battery. One incident involved a female Huntington North high school student at a practice.

Now, officials have filed a petition to request that probation be revoked after he failed to meet the deadline to register as a sex offender.

If a judge grants that revocation, Cotton could see jail time.

The 68-year-old Cotton was involved with Huntington North as a teacher and coach for more than 40 years.
