Crews Battle Water Main Breaks

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Starting at 11 this morning, Fairfield will be closed near Lexington for 4-6 hours because of an emergency water main repair. The closure will allow the Water Maintenance Service to repair the damaged line in the roadway and reinstall service to the area.  A detour route will be established that will utilize Rudisill Blvd., Calhoun St. and Pettit Ave. Throughout the morning, water maintenance crews have been responding to water main breaks across the city. Earlier this morning, St. Mary's and West State was a major problem area. The intersection was closed down, but has since reopened. Drivers in the area say the standing water is causing slippery roadways.
