Fort Wayne’s Greenway Expansion Project Honored

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne's work on the Rivergreenway getting attention.

The Greenways Foundation of Indiana has honored the city for the fourth and fifth phases of the extension from Johnny Appleseed Park to Shoaff Park. The foundation presented its “Outstanding Trail Project Award” to Mayor Tom Henry Tuesday in Indianapolis.

City officials say the Rivergreenway project covers about 70 miles overall, stretching into New Haven and Allen County. It's connecting trails are popular for hiking, jogging and rollerblading.
