Tobacco Store Suspect Appears in Court

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The man accused of shooting a local tobacco store owner made his first court appearance this morning.

Twenty-two year Jamel Coleman, a Gary man living in Fort Wayne, is accused of binding 44-year-old Antonio Nino with duct tape and and shooting him in a robbery gone bad.

That crime happened April 7 at the Smoke House Tobacco Outlet on South Lafayette.

While in court, he was assigned a public defender and will be back in court May 8. Coleman is charged with murder, felony murder and robbery causing harm.
