Man Dies After His Motorcycle Crashes Into Car

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO):  A man riding a motorcycle was killed when a car pulled out in front of him in traffic.  

Around 9:50 p.m. Saturday night, Steuben County responded to a call at the intersection of SR 120 and CR 650 W just east of Orland.  66 year old Kenny Penick of Orland was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on SR 120.  78 year old Donald Stanfield of Defiance, Ohio was driving a Chevy Equinox and was stopped at the intersection.  Stanfield began to turn left onto SR 120 heading eastbound.  It was in the path of Penick and his motorcycle struck the drivers side door of Stanfield's vehicle.  

Penick was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head.  He was not wearing a helmet.  

Stanfield suffered a contusion to his face and arm and was wearing a seat belt.  His passenger, 71 year old Charleen Stanfield suffered chest pain and was also wearing a seat belt.  They were both transported to Cameron Hospital, treated and released.  

The crash is under investigation.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
