HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): Officials have given the all clear at Huntington North High School after a bomb scare this afternoon.

Superintendent Dr. Tracey Shafer told WOWO News a note was found in a restroom at the school around 1 p.m. That prompted an evacuation of about 1,750 students to the schools football field a few blocks away.

Authorities searched the building and found no evidence of a bomb and determined it to be a hoax.

Both Huntington City Police and County Sheriff’s Departments are investigating the incident. They are asking if you have any information to contact the school or law enforcement.

Shafer says a bomb threat at Crestview Middle School earlier this week was not related. A middle school student has been disciplined for that bomb threat. It's likely a different person involved in today’s scare.
