FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More hometown heroes to be honored.

Just in time for Independence Day, the City of Fort Wayne will added sixteen blue star banners to West Jefferson Blvd near Swinney Park.

The banners honor Fort Wayne residents and City of Fort Wayne employees who are on active military duty.

 When the service member returns, the banner is presented to them as a tribute for their dedication.
