FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash that happened last night off Maplecrest Road, in front of the Georgetown North Shopping Center.

Just after 10 p.m., police received calls about a woman lying on the side of the road. 25-year-old Haley Nancarrow was pronounced dead and investigators found a side mirror at the scene- apparently from the vehicle that struck her.

According to police reports, Nancarrow was hit by a car and the vehicle fled the scene. Police are searching for the driver, who's described as an older man with gray hair. The SUV that hit Nancarrow is missing a passenger side mirror and has extensive damage to the passenger door.

Police say the suspect managed to flee the scene without any witnesses.
