Production Boost Eyed at Indiana Auto Parts Plant

OSSIAN, Ind. (AP) – An auto parts supplier is planning a $10 million project that could add more than 70 jobs at a northeastern Indiana factory.

Officials of TI Automotive say it will buy new equipment for its factory in the Wells County town of Ossian (AH'-see-uhn) in order to meet increased demand for its plastic fuel tank and fluid-carrying systems.

Wells County economic development director Tim Ehlerding tells The Journal Gazette, the factory won't need an expansion to house the new equipment .

The Auburn Hills, Michigan-based company now has some 150 workers at the factory about 10 miles south of Fort Wayne.

The Ossian Town Council has approved a 10-year property tax abatement for the project.
