Fort Wayne Man Gets 16 Years in Woman’s 2011 Death

ALBION, Ind. (AP) _ A judge has sentenced a Fort Wayne man to 16 years in prison after he admitted killing a woman whose body was dumped in a northeastern Indiana lake.


Thirty-six-year-old Andres Gonzalez Jr. learned his sentence Tuesday after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the 2011 death of 36-year-old Erin Justin. Noble County Prosecutor Steven Clouse dropped a murder charge in a plea agreement.

 
The News-Sun reports a fisherman found Justin's body weighted with a cinder block in Bartley Lake near Albion in July 2011. Gonzalez killing Justin during a physical attack. 
 
The defendant's brother, 32-year-old Victor Manuel Gonzalez, was sentenced to three years after he admitted to helping dump Justin's body.
