Cold Safety Tips

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): As dangerously low temperatures and bitterly cold wind chills continue to be in the forecast for much of this week, State Health and Homeland Security leaders are again reminding Hoosiers of simple ways to stay safe in the cold.

At the top of their list is another reminder to limit your exposure to the cold. Dress in layers and keep dry. Also keep your pets indoors or make sure they have a warm shelter with fresh, not frozen water. For your car, make sure your emergency pack has an ice scraper, blanket, flashlight and be sure to keep your fuel tank above half-full.
