FW Approves Purchase of Land Owned by Citilink

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Tuesday afternoon, the Fort Wayne Housing and Neighborhood Services Executive Board OK'ed a resolution to a purchase agreement for a portion of land currently owned by Citilink.

According to the Journal Gazette, the purchase agreement was singed on February 12th.

The land to be purchased is near the old Citilink transfer station on E. Superior Street, between South Calhoun and South Clinton Streets. Citilink closed the transfer station in 2012. The site is nearly an acre and is located near the Allen County Jail.

In February, 2015, Citilink put the property up for auction.

The appraised value of the land is $360,000, according to the purchase agreement. The agreement also says, HANDS is acquiring the property “to advance various affordable housing projects that are planned in proximity to the Real Estate.”

The city is expected to close on the property on April 16.
