Allen County Election Board Inspecting Voting Machines

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Allen County Election Board is testing the voting machines that will be used in the May 5th municipal primary.

The machines will be used in three different voter precincts, according to the Journal-Gazette.

Allen County Director of Elections Beth Dlug says she is creating a spreadsheet with a predetermined list of votes for each machine. The votes are then collected by the machines and if they match her vote list, the machine works properly. If not, then either the vote wasn't entered correctly or the machine isn't working correctly. Dlug says it's almost always “fat fingers” that cause errors during testing.

The machines will be tested through next week in preparation for the May 5th municipal primary.
