Volunteers Take Part in Great American Cleanup

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Great American Cleanup took place over the weekend, bringing thousands of volunteers to Fort Wayne.

More than 75 businesses donated funds and cleaning supplies to help clean up the city of Fort Wayne. According to the news sentinel, nearly 5,000 volunteers and 230 groups took part in the Great American cleanup where they picked up trash throughout the city.

Last year, volunteers were able to collect more than 90 tons of trash and debris from over 70 miles of roads, 33 miles of trails, and 17 miles of riverbank.
