Boy Hit By SUV In Angola

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): A boy on his bike rode into traffic, and an oncoming car couldn't avoid hitting him.

In Angola, a 10 year old boy on his bike left his driveway and rode onto CR 400 W, which is near Crooked Lake. Around 8:14 p.m. emergency crews got the call that he was hit by a car. When they arrived, they found 37 year old Kelly Shelburne stopped in the road as residents were attending to the child.

Shelburne said she was driving her SUV northbound when the child darted into the road and she couldn't stop in time. The child was treated at the scene and flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne to be treated for his injuries. Speed and alcohol are not suspected, and the crash is still under investigation.
