New Haven PD Looking For Police Reserve Candidates

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): The New Haven Police Department is looking for some people interested in keeping the peace in the city.

They're seeking applicants to their New Haven Police Reserve program. Police Reserves volunteer their time to help their officers, like riding with officers on patrols or helping during special events.

Every reserve officer is required to put in 16 hours a month to the New Haven Police Department, and six months of training is offered. After training, a reserve officer is sworn in and allowed to wear a uniform and ride with a full-time officer.

Applications are being accepted through the end of the month at the police department.
