Deadline Approaching for Families to Apply for On My Way Pre-K Program

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): The deadline is fast approaching for eligible Hoosier families to apply for the On My Way Pre-K program. It's Indiana's first state-funded prekindergarten program for low-income families. Applications will be accepted at www.OnMyWayPreK.org until Monday December 15th for the first phase of the program, which will begin in January of 2015.

Families who are eligible for the first phase of this pilot program must live in Allen, Lake, Marion or Vanderburgh Counties, have a 4-year-old child who will start kindergarten in the fall of 2015 and have an income below 127 percent of the federal poverty level.

If more families qualify than there are grants available, awards will be made through a randomized lottery process. This lottery will be held on December 17, 2014, and families will be notified if they receive a grant.
