You can only use fireworks on your own property or on someone else’s property if you have their consent, or on a special discharge location. Breaking any of these rules can result in a fine of up to $500. Purposely using fireworks to harm someone could end up with you facing six months to three years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Using fireworks to damage a person’s property could result in a year in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. And, a person under 18 who possesses and uses fireworks without an adult could receive a fine up to $500.
