Indianapolis Man Accused of Making False 911 Calls

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – An Indianapolis man is charged with 16 counts of false reporting after authorities allege he repeatedly called 911 to make false reports ranging from a stolen vehicle report to an armed, barricaded person with a possible hostage.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say 20-year-old Andre Richardson was responsible for about 70 police, fire and emergency medical services calls since February requiring almost 23 hours of public service time.

Richardson was being held Friday at the Marion County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Court records did not indicate whether he has hired an attorney.
