INDIANAPOLIS (AP): As much as eight inches of snow as fall on some parts of the state and some areas end up with another four to six inches.

The National Weather Service reports Columbia City has eight inches of snow. LaPorte and Roseland, near South Bend, have six inches, and Auburn, Elkhart, Huntington and Warsaw all have five.

There are unconfirmed reports of as much as some parts of Northeast Indiana receiving 16 inches of snow by Sunday night. Including more than a foot in Butler, Whitley County and Kendallville, again those are not official National Weather Service numbers.

A winter storm warning remains in effect in many areas with some areas receiving an inch or two an hour, with some areas expected to receive up to 14 inches.

The weather service says temperatures are expected to drop drastically Sunday night, possibly down to 20 below in some places. Deadly wind chills as low as 45 below zero are possible through Tuesday.
