NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) _ An 18-year-old southern Indiana woman has received the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a southern Indiana house fire that killed three young siblings.
WHAS-AM and the News and Tribune report a judge sentenced Shelby Makowsky of Clarksville on Thursday after she admitted she was in the car from which 18-year old Cody Cashion allegedly fired a flare into the New Albany home on Jan. 4.
Makowsky didn't say anything as she was led away by Floyd County Correction officers.
Marie Clark, the grandmother of the children, says she believes the sentence provides justice for the lives lost.
Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson said this week he's offered an undisclosed plea agreement to Cashion.
