Thieves Take Perhaps $2,000 From State Fair Stand

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Police say thieves stole perhaps $2,000 from an Indiana State Fair food vendor just before this summer's fair ended.

State police say two men approached the “Chick-on-a-Stick” stand Sunday night and distracted employees. The Indianapolis Star and WRTV report someone else went to the back of a stand and stole a cash bag.

Police say the stand employees didn't see whoever took the money and noticed it missing after the two men left. No arrests were immediately made.

The annual state fair ended its 17-day run Sunday night at the Indianapolis fairgrounds.
