Police arrest 2 juveniles for school bus fire

ELKHART, Ind. (AP): Police say two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a fire that destroyed or damaged four school buses belonging to a northern Indiana district.

The Elkhart Police Department says the boy and girl were arrested Thursday for the fire that was reported early Tuesday outside Elkhart Central High School.

The Elkhart Truth reports firefighters arrived to find three buses ablaze, which were later determined to be damaged beyond repair. A fourth bus was badly damaged.

School officials said two of the burned buses had wheelchair lifts and were used to transport special-needs students.

Police have said investigators believe the fire was intentionally set.
