Autopsy Done On Body Found In SW Indiana Cornfield

SULLIVAN, Ind. (AP) _ An autopsy has been performed on a body found by a farmer in a southwestern Indiana cornfield, but police haven't released information about a possible identification.

Authorities say the autopsy Wednesday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital following the discovery of the body a day earlier by a farmer harvesting corn a few miles northeast of Sullivan.

Due to the condition of the body, investigating officers were unable to determine the person's sex or age.

The Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports (http://bit.ly/1tmToIz ) Indiana State Police detectives are checking missing person reports as part of the effort to identify the person.

The body was found in a rural area about 25 miles south of Terre Haute.
