Animal Shelter Severs Ties with Web Firm Over Super Bowl Ad

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Humane Society of Indianapolis is moving to a new web site host after dumping GoDaddy over a Super Bowl ad.

GoDaddy pulled the ad before Sunday's game after receiving strong criticism from animal welfare organizations and other groups. The story line featured a lost puppy that returns home, only to be told it had just been sold on a website its owner had created using GoDaddy.com.

Humane Society Director John Alshire told WTHR-TV Wednesday that his group found the ad “egregious'' and wanted to make a statement by dropping the company.
