INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): An Indiana plastic surgeon is getting to the bottom of an increasingly popular procedure.

Dr. Bruce Van Natta is with Meridian Plastic Surgeons at St.Vincent Hospital. He‘s speaking out in response to a new report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that finds butt-lifts and augmentations are among the fastest growing cosmetic procedures across the nation. ASPS says the number of butt implant procedures doubled in 2014.

He says they include silicone implants and fat grafting which involves transferring fat from other parts of the body.

He cautions that fat grafting is irreversible. Dr. Van Natta says the procedures aren‘t nearly as popular in Indiana as in other parts of the nation, but he adds he does have patients who want the procedure. He adds that for some, it‘s a self-esteem booster and it‘s not for him to morally judge.
