State to Commemorate Peace Offices Memorial Day

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence has ordered flags around the state to be flown at Half-Staff for Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Friday from sunrise to sunset, flags at state facilities will be lowered in honor of officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.  

The day of tribute, was first signed into law by President John F. Kennedy and includes federal, state and local officers.
