Indianapolis Suburb Adds E-Cigarettes to Public Smoking Ban

GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) _ Officials in an Indianapolis suburb have voted to ban the use of electronic cigarettes in public places.

The Daily Journal (bit.ly/1HK46Pw ) reports City Council members in Greenwood voted 6-2 this week to add e-cigarettes to the city's smoking ban. The ban prohibits smoking in places such as restaurants, building entryways and parks, but not bars.

The new rules on e-cigarettes take effect next week.

Indiana legislators approved regulations for liquids used in e-cigarettes last month, but no limits were set on where they could be used.
