NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A central Indiana man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the home invasion beating of a 94-year-old World War II veteran.
WRTV reports (http://bit.ly/1IoQLMM ) 27-year-old Justin Lawson was also sentenced Friday to two years of house arrest. He pleaded guilty in April to robbery and burglary in the Oct. 9 attack on Herschel “Bud'' Moore in his Hamilton County home about 20 miles north of Indianapolis.
Authorities say Lawson and 26-year-old Joseph Lowe broke into Moore's Arcadia home, tied him up, beat him and stole a large sum of money.
Lowe also pleaded guilty and was sentenced last month to 25 years in prison.
Moore is a Purple Heart recipient who was shot in both kneecaps and held prisoner in France during World War II.
